Arabs Imalon Syria 48 hours to allow observers
Gave the Arab League at the conclusion of a meeting at Foreign Minister level on Thursday, the Syrian authorities 48 hours to sign a protocol allowing observers to enter their territory, before proceeding to impose economic sanctions on Damascus.
He called on the Arab League Council to Damascus, "the signing of the Protocol on the legal status of tasks in addition to Observer Mission of the Arab League and the decision went to Syria, according to a formula adopted by the Council in the Moroccan capital Rabat."
The news agency MENA that "the Council called on the Syrian government and the opposition to the spectra of a conference of national dialogue and within the meaning of the Arab initiative to resolve the crisis in Syria to agree on forming a government of national unity for the conduct of the transition."
The Council stressed that "in the absence of the signing of the Syrian government on the decision of the Arab League or their violation of obligations its own, which include stopping the killing and the release of detainees, it is scheduled to meet Economic and Social Council of the Arab League on Saturday to consider the imposition of economic sanctions on Syria."
The sanctions include the Arab League to stop flights to Syria and stop dealing with the Central Bank of Syria and stop the trade exchanges with the Syrian government with the exception of strategic commodities that affect the Syrian people.
The sanctions include the agency said the Egyptian, freezing of assets of the Syrian government and to stop financial transactions with Syria, and to consider the severance of diplomatic relations with Syria and to inform the UN Security Council decision.
It is scheduled to view these proposed sanctions on the Arab foreign ministers, in the emergency meeting on Sunday.
